The Daily Show

Season 31 Episode 106: September 24, 2026 - Merritt Wever

Desi Lydic breaks down the headlines as Republicans face a tough road to the midterms. Fortunately, Sen. Tommy Tuberville may have found a winning issue: cracking down on in-flight furries. Meanwhile, Jordan Klepper reports from Trump’s summit with President Xi, where Trump was startled by his own flyover and unveiled a flashy new helipad. In Tech Yeah!, Grace Kuhlenschmidt covers the latest tech buzz, including Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo, a smartwatch that can eavesdrop around the clock, robots catching fire at the World Humanoid Robot Games, and a robotic companion with oversized accessories. Three-time Emmy winner Merritt Wever joins Desi to discuss her new film, Primetime, her early Daily Show experience, being mentored by Edie Falco, her viral Emmy speech, and how she prepared for her role by studying veteran TV producers and the blurred lines between news, entertainment, and law enforcement.
